Effie Oliver, eldest daughter of Henderson and Julia Oliver, was born January 8, 1878, and departed this life December 13, 1912, being 34 years, 11 months and 5 days old. She was married to Alonzo Payne October 22, 1901.To this union were born three children, one boy and two girls, Wilbert, Lola Alice, and Grace. Wilbert preceded her to the great beyond. Effie was a good wife, mother and neighbor and will be missed. She was converted early in life at a meeting held at Sullivan school house, and was a faithful Christian through her short life both in the home and at Church testifying to Christ's redeeming love.She leaves to mourn her loss, a father, step mother, her husband, two little girls and a host of relatives and friends. "Mrs. Lon Payne, who has been at the Tuberculosis Hospital, died at that place Thursday evening. The body was brought to the home on Friday night. Funeral services were conducted at Byron Church Sunday morning at nine, by Rev. Albert Tomlinson. Interment at Waynetown. - kbz

Waveland - Mrs. Effie Oliver Payne died Friday at the tuberculosis hospital at Rockville after a lingering illness of several months. She was the daughter of Henderson Oliver of this place and is survived by a husband and three children to mourn her loss. The funeral services were conducted at the Byron Church west of here, by Rev. Mr. Tomlinson after which the body was taken to Waynetown for interment. - kbz
